There are many dimensions to speed.  I can tell you my experience: to
compile a recent Emacs, my Fit-PC2 (atom-based single core 2-threads)
takes about 30 minutes (40 minutes if I don't parallelize the
compilation), whereas it takes about 1h20 on my Mele-A2000 (Allwinner 10
at 1GHz).

So it's about half the speed on this benchmark, and the power
consumption during this test is between half and one third.

I expect most people don't use such chips to do software development, so
it's probably not representative of what you care about, tho.
