 yeah i did a weird setup using a PC and ran its SATA cable out the
box.  power from a 300W PSU just to run a SATA drive that's connected
to a device consuming _less_ power even than the SATA drive... mad.

 aaawesome.  can also track down the kernel source see what's gone
into it to make ethernet work.

... i could just have a stuffed board here...
