 right, sorry!  the toolchain is open64 (not gcc, it's gcc-compatible)
so is GPLv2.  open64 at some point took a copy of gcc's front-end, so
is pretty much exactly the same usage-wise.  some of the arguments are
irrelevant/ignored but otherwise you can pretty much use "export CC="
on configure scripts etc. etc.
