I'd like to start here and define what exactly is going on. Going back
to early last year this started out as a ML for the 8.9" CT-PC89E ARM
netbook.
Are we talking about community development of open hardware at the board
level? A project similar to opencores for IP blocks or OpenMoko, only
with _everything open_ including hardware, software and mechanical
design including the enclosure? Are we just sharing ideas on how to do
this in case somebody wants to come along and decide to build and sell
it to us?
I'd be interested in working on a truly open ARM hardware project for
netbooks, tablets, set-top-box etc.. I'm just not certain if we can find
an ARM vendor with a device above ARM 11 with a publicly open data sheet.
