EMOA MEB's, Now in Colour!
http://revident.net/projects/emoa-68/meb-v1-w-cases-in-colour.jpg
So, the last to arrive due to a shipping malfunction, my MEBs arrived today. This evening I spent some time with the Laser Cutter at Hacklab.to to cut out Joem's cases design.
I didn't get in on the initial batch of cards due to constraints in time, budget and skills. Now that the peripherals are confirmed I'm looking forward to standing on the shoulder of giants. Great projects lay ahead.

Thanks for verifying Scott - I dropped in a link to the photo.

Your welcome, it's a nice design, fits very well. The only weak point is that I found the holes for the PCB standoffs to be a bit too big. Wrapping the tabs in tape did just the trick as per your listed suggestions.
Also... typo in my URL, don't worry to much about fixing it. Gave me an excuse to finally learn 30X redirects.

hey that's awesome scott.

mmm..... i _do_ have *maybe* one spare A10 card: if you're guaranteed to use it (we have 20+ CPU Cards out there and only 3 people actually using them) i.e. develop some software which ends up improving things for other people prior to the 2.5k order going out then i have a case for my associates to justify lending it to you.

Pretty Easy, I've been doing the Adafruit Raspberry Pi case for visitors and colleagues ever since it was released under a CC license.

Yeah, this is the same laser cutter with which Cory Doctorow didn't believe us when we said it could play Music.

I appreciate the offer Luke, but I my project ideas and interests focus more on what to build around the EOMA-68 standard then about the cards themselves. To that end one of the closer to production A20 cards would be more suitable as I would know I'm dealing with bugs for the final platform instead of difference between the A10 and A20. So if one of the folks that has an A20 card sitting in their drawer would like to arrange something with me, I'd be happy to discuss that off list.
Otherwise, I'll wait for the next batch.

ahh but can it play chords? :)

yep - you need to run a wire from the ethernet PHY... :)

that's a good idea.

Yes. Guilty as charged. I keep hoping that a) various other urgent things like arm64 bootstraping will back off and b) someone will send me a MEB1 or 2 to make it easier, but gmail's refusal to deliver my mail hasn't helped with that.
If someone told I defo _wasn't_ getting a MEB anytime soon I might pucker up and buy a connector, or stuff some wires in holes and do it the hard way.
Wookey

yehh, if you grab a through-hole PCMCIA connector off of farnell / mouser / digikey it's not so hard.
would anyone like to do something simple like a breakout board, at least?

what is that address? I see no messages around the same time as this that seem relevant.
If my anti-spam is eating your messages, and google's anti-spam is eating mine we are destined to get nowhere fast.
I did see today's message to the list about 12 PCBs arriving today And action over the weekend, so I guess that's where we are at.
Put me down for a MEBv2. so I don't miss the boat this time.
Wookey

wookey the MEBv2s are going to be on a different schedule, not sold directly through QiMod Ltd, as they're nothing to do with QiMod Ltd. the person (the client) who's paying for them (funding them) is not on this list, either. there also hasn't been any discussion or announcement about how orders are to be arranged: i am not involved in that so cannot advise you what to do here. i thougth it best to ake you aware of that because this list may not be the best place to request preorders, but there's no other alternative place to say so either.
