in that case the router board would end up almost 50 to 100% larger than the size of the design that i managed to fit it into. right now it would be possible to fit approximately into a 12x11 case. if the CPU Card and all other connectors were moved to TOP, not only would it be necessary to spend about another two weeks doing a total redesign but also the board size would need to be something like 18cm x 11cm or possibly even larger. so... too late, sorry. next product perhaps.
however for the mini desktop pc i started yesterday (a learning curve of a combination of the flying squirrel and the router - basically the exact same components), that's achievable, and in roughly the same space as the router, as well. the difference between the router and the mini-desktop pc: no huuge space taken up by a 4-port gigabit ethernet monster, nor any need for a 50mm x 18mm huuge POE module, no huge QFP routing IC, so there's plenty of space.
