they have been on my hit list for sometime. I think/recommend they would
make a very good partner. they have really good band & marketing. they
handle user experience (software) and are building a strong brand.
they have shown a strong commitment to free software ideas (gplv3) but I
am concerned that the first phone might be status quo hardware (non-free
drivers and firmware) but we/I shall see. There first software release
is only on osx first, gnu/linux and m$ later. I guess thats the system
they are currently more familiar with and future releases will be umm
more preferable :D
I find my self coming across projects that are using a SOM that I think
could have been a eoma-68. all those lost orders that would have made
all the difference in getting cards rolling off the production line at a
preferable price and into many peoples hands.
todays example:

minor rework for production purposes, the 5 prototypes however should
be good enough for testing and demo purposes for the crowdfunding
campaign which will start early november.

ok so now we have:
* EOMA68-A20 CPU Card
* EOMA68-IC1t CPU Card
* Micro-Desktop base unit
testing begins when the micro-desktop base arrives, and the
crowd-funding campaign will begin early next month if all
functionality passes 100%. the EOMA68-A20 CPU card is not expected to
require any rework (it's about the 4th revision as it is): the
micro-desktop however is 1st revision and will need at least one minor
correction (VGA connector).

Typos and flex funding. I wouldn't touch it personally.

I thought the whole point of crowdfunding campaigns was to deal with
those situations where you had a good idea but needed a minimum ammount
of committed funds to make it viable to move forward and where eaither
more traditional funding routes had failed or the creator didn't want to
give up control.
Flexible funding always strikes me as missing the point of a
crowdfunding campaign and treating the crowdfunding site as merely an
advertising and preorder site.
