Possibly a foolish thought, but how about allowing for multiple power
supplies, preferably with some way of detecting which one broke so one
could then send an email about it before the other one packs up?
Also, or perhaps instead, PoE? (although you'll struggle to get enough
power through that -- 802.3at (Type 2) is able to deliver up to 22.5W)
