No approvals (CE, FCC, RoHS) or licences (HDMI, WEEE, MPEG) as far as I can
see, so illegal in most western countries

One should explore whether such firms can be utilized for quick prototyping.
If they are capable of copying a board, they can also make it from proper
design files.

no software. They understand that there is a demand and apart from it
they don't have any interest in embedded world.
