Another option is NuttX RTOS, it has support to Freescale Kinetis family:

This is a POSIX RTOS with features based on Linux. It supports many
microcontrollers (8051, Z80, AVR, ARM: STM32, Stellaris, Kinetis,
etc).

If you want you could compile it with a shell called NSH and get
almost all linux bash commands and everything will fit on 32KB Flash.

I ported it to low cost Freedom board (FRDM-KL25Z) with Greg Nutt's
help. I'm using it on my projects and it is saving me much time
because my Linux background.

Taste it (probably you already have a supported board) and you will
see what I'm talking about.
