If anyone knows where I can get birch veneers as used to make plywood
direct from a manufacturer, then I'd buy $1000 and give it a go.
Got laser! :)
The best birch comes from Russia and Latvia and so on.
But I don't have contacts, and more than likely
they won't understand me when I request veneeer instead of plywood.
There are veneer stockists in UK, but it costs and arm and a leg
to get it from them! What I want is the raw veneer as used to make
plywood. It should be very cheap. Shipping would be an arm and a leg
as well unless they bring it in their own ships with supplies
for other factories that use the wood in UK, and I get to collect
it from a lorry that is doing the rounds or something like that instead
of being whacked for shipping and port handling costs.
