I would have thought that your contacts at the university that were
going to design the laptop should be able to design a plugin box for an
Atrix lapdock pretty easily. Granted, this will never become a huge
seller, but it would at least get EOMA off the ground for relatively low
development costs, with a product that is feasibly crowdfundable. Not to
mention that with minimal additional changes the box would work
standalone, too (for those that want to plug in a USB mouse/keyboard and
plug it into a TV via HDMI/DVI). That covers two big use-cases (desktop
and laptop) from the start. Not ideal, but certainly much more workable
than a bare EOMA card with nothing to plug it into.
