to make 1GB with 32 bit data bus you need 4 chips x8 data lines as data
buffers are with *one load* drivers
for 512MB with 32 bit data bus you need 2 chips x16 data lines
I'm interested to see how Wits did board variant which use 32 bit data bus
and can be either 512MB either 1GB
