yehh, gnash and swfdec are work-in-progress, it's a _big_
reverse-engineering project, doing flash compatibility. you have to
not only implement the bytecode engine (actionscript is enhanced
javascript, compiled to bytecode) v2 as well as v3 but you then also
have to implement the marshalling protocols (AMF) networking protocols
and then the runtime libraries as well.
they're getting there but... maan is it damn hard work. bottom line:
don't expect anything *other* than the non-free proprietary version of
flash to actually work properly for some years yet.... and oh, whoops,
adobe just announced that they've abandoned flash for ARM / mobile
devices a few months back. their business model is f*****d. they
force the SoC vendor and device manufacturer to go through a $50,000
certification programme, and *THEY* do the software compilation *FOR
YOU*. utterly insane. with the proliferation and customisation on
ARM devices it's no wonder they can't cope.
