That's really where these things are going, isn't it. :)

It's a bit like back in the '40s when they were putting bigger and 
bigger superchargers on plane engines until they just decided "Forget 
about the engine, let's just use the supercharger on it's own."

In the electronics industry it's getting to get to the point where you 
get FPGAs of various sizes and everything is "firmware".
