yeah. the software which generated the gerbers had a couple of
places where diagonal tracks had been overlaid by rectangular pads,
the software didn't detect that the "clearing" either side of the
diagonal track obviously needed to cut a corner off the rectangle, so
it just... joined the two together, yaay! it turned out to be 5V
joined to GND.
those two faults were found easily enough but this one's a bit more subtle.
