Really the proposal is exactly as your first email in the chain.

Only the minimum finding is to cover NRE and enough to produce alpha,
beta & stable boards. So $5,000 over ~75-100 people.  Each paying $40
to get a beta development board. Perversely, "special" reward that
cost more for people to get an early board, say  $75. Say $20 to get a
really late (time-wise board). Set the minimum funding level to cover
all three stages of development.

Off the top of my head. I can run the figures better tomorrow, but I
need to get some sleep before work.
