success! debian is on. i had set up lvm2, which i had to comment out
from /etc/init.d/lvm2 by putting exit 0 at the top. basically i had a
debian armel install using qemu which i've now hacked about and then
rsync'd out of qemu. then i hacked it about some more, then tar.gz'd
it and shoved it onto a FAT-formatted sdcard as datang-epc.tar.gz

the reason for hacking it about was because the limit of the root
filesystem is 450mb. not a lot.

one thing that can now be done of course is to use parted to resize
things - hooray!

ahh.... why are the partitions in reverse-order??? /dev/mmcblk0p1 has
been made to be at the end, ehn?

anyway, yes: the qemu install had lvm2, and the NAND flash doesn't
_have_ lvm on it, so it barfed.

also, the modules, my god they're a mess. various modules have been
compiled in at random points, but they're still left in the datang-epc
tarball.... in /drivers not
/lib/modules/{kernel-number}/kernel/drivers. so.... usbcore.ko is
"old"... and isn't needed because it's compiled-in... achh..

anyway i will make sure it's all working, at least has a display
manager, can be rebooted, and then will copy it up to somewhere.

l.
