 ... it's 10mb/sec, sadly.  also looked at the ASIX AX88100 - sadly
although that's an appropriate controller chip, it's a 32-bit
converter to GMII / RGMII so is 128-pin and you need *another* chip -
a GMII PHY.  power consumption alone is unfortunately out of range of
my capabilities to assess, and my abilities to deal with.
