this is a B2B connector which fits 30 pins into a 5.4 x 12.0mm space
and 40 pins into 5.4 x 14.5mm.  they're 3mm high and you'd be able to
put one at each end.

 potentially what could be done is to put two in, diagonally opposite,
then put all (and a few more) of the 26 pins onto one of them, and
then with a couple of stand-offs you'd be looking at using this
[without the expresscard attached] as a plain SoM.

 btw yeah that's a definite no on the micro-sd, which leaves enough
room for a 2nd DDR3 *sigh*.
