 ... as i've just discovered, and learned that my dislike of android
plus my assumptions has made my life rather inconvenient at my own
cost, ah well, you live and learn.

 so!  i have adb shell, and that's showing this:

hmmmm.... i wonder if i can get a chrooted filesystem on here....

hmmm... adb ppp.... maybe....  get some networking at least over the usb-otg....
