 or a gstreamer plugin (including potentially just using the ffmpeg
one), etc. etc.

 gstreamer is a good choice because then it can go into webkit-gtk as
well, meaning embedded HTML5 video will just "work".  not sure what
denis is up to with directfb and webkit-dfb, haven't checked for a
while.

 but yes, check what other Board Support Packages have from other SoC vendors.
