 yep, definitely.  i'd recommend you ask there: wookey and others will
be more up-to-speed on what's needed.

 btw don't be too proud to just "get something working" first, and
*then* move on to more advanced code.

 in other words pick the path of least resistance, so that you can at
least have a benchmark against which to make further improvements.

 in other words, do consider using the 2.6.{whatever} kernel - or
whatever actually works, get everything working, and _then_ replace
one and *ONLY* one component at a time.

 in other words, tackle one thing at a time.  if you take on too much
all at once you may simply end up giving up out of pure frustration at
not being able to achieve everything all at once.  or simply run out
of time.
