i've just been made aware of this - a competitor board to the
beagleboard-xm, except that it has 1gb of DDR3 (yaay!) RAM, and has
LVDS as standard.  photos here show it running gnu/linux, directly:

at $149 in many ways it trumps the beagleboard-xm, and with LVDS as
well it means that creating a laptop around this would be muuuch
easier.  the only weirdness is the VGA connector, leaving HDMI to an
expansion port which appears to be mutually exclusive with the RGB/TTL
out (!) - so if you wanted a dual-channel LVDS you couldn't also have
HDMI.  odd.  oh well, not the end of the world :)
