A point of confusion re: EOMA-68

Hello all! I just wanted to try and understand something with EOMA-68 -- just a small question that's not explained well on the Wiki page. I had a design idea that I wanted to draw up (not much of the actual circuitry -- I'm not that good -- but enough so that some electronics engineers can "fill in the blanks", if you will, with the circuitry I can't figure out), but I've got to get this figured out first. So I can sort of figure out that external to the CPU Card, there needs to be an I2C EEPROM. What I can't quite figure out is the purpose of that EEPROM. I'm *guessing* that it's for IDing what the external interfaces are on the host board / carrier board (the PCB that the CPU Card plugs into) so that the CPU card can turn off what's not needed, and provide proper I/O protocols to what is needed -- but that's only a guess, because it's extremely unclear on the Wiki page. Would you folks be able to provide some clarification? Thanks! Christopher

http://rhombus-tech.net/community_ideas/kde_tablet/news/ ok so whilst adam greig was successful because he used a camera sensor that could be brought down to a 6mhz clock rate, the $3 part we've sourced won't go below 12mhz. so, we have to upgrade to an STM32F207VCT6, which has DCMI (camera sensor) support built-in, amazingly. so, this *almost* concludes the set of hardware testing for the flying squirrel. l.

Kicad also got installed and it is reasonably usable. So use that to design your next EOMA application PCBs :) Also installed were xfce4, lxde and openbox window managers. Gambas installed from sources. The sound works through jack socket (hdmi sound - nothing as yet although it is known to work through booting up Android), and espeak works. So you could send it commands through serial port for example software, let gambas serial port program read the text and then the machine can be made talk back by gambas calling espeak. : I used it for the embedded work - instead of reading reams of logs, it puts important data out as text embedded inside <s>..things to say...</s> brackets and I filter for that with a gambas program and get the most relevant points read back out. NICE!!! When you first log in, a 3D animation runs if its all working.

Specifics of EOMA gpio

Hi Luke or anyone, Need to know specific commands to turn on/off EOMA gpio lines for some testing. Is there documentation somewhere? If not, create a web page, and let me know where and list of lines that can be controlled, and i check it and get it documented etc....

flying squirrel weirdness on the I2C bus

ahh.... something really weird going on with the flying squirrel i2c addressing. i'm running i2cdetect and it's showing up 0x34 for the AXP209 I2C address instead of 0x68, and so on. i _thought_ i got the address for the I2C EEPROM right, from the datasheet (0xA2) - but it seems that it's been shifted by one bit (0x51) as well. help! i have no idea what's going on here! l.

Possible GPU?

Hi, I was wondering if you'd heard about Bruno's open GPU that's about to go kickstarter, and what you think of it. They want to open the IP from Number Nine, in FPGA form. It has both 2d and fixed-function GL parts, separable from each other if only 2d is needed.
